Paris underworld.

Paris has a notorious matrix of tunnels below the city that were built in the 18th century. The sheer size of the network is mind blowing. On the off chance we were lucky enough to be taken by a local Parisian that knew the caves and had a map of all the tunnels and exits. As we endured the expedition we found ourselves crawling through tight gaps between caverns and knee deep in water at times.

We spent four hours exploring the catacombs, coming across crypts stacked with skulls and bones. It is illegal to be down in the catacombs but we thought to take this opportunity to see the real fucked up parts of this huge place. It’s one of the only places in Paris that you can hear nothing and see nothing. Only a few people know how to get in and explore inside the tunnels, you could easily get lost and never resurface. The whole experience was like something out of Indiana Jones.
